Figures are carried across, not translated
The commonest damage in financial translation comes not from an unfortunate word but from a silent adjustment to a figure: a currency conversion, different rounding, or the “correction” of a total that looked wrong. That turns the document into a new statement, and a new statement no longer corresponds to the original.
We hold the opposite rule. The value stays exactly as it was and only the notation changes where the target language requires it. Where we find an inconsistency in the original, it goes into a note with the delivery and the decision stays with you and your accountant.

Statements, balance sheets and auditor’s reports
In a set of statements a second thing matters alongside the figures: what the line items are called. Ukrainian and Slovak reporting formats are not built the same way, so we do not paper over a line item with the nearest Slovak one that would imply a different methodology. We translate its name and leave the structure of the statement as it is.
Where you file statements for several periods, we produce them from one glossary. That lets two years be set side by side and compared, which is usually impossible when different suppliers did the translations.
Documents for a bank, an authority or a tender
A bank assessing a mortgage, the foreign police in residence proceedings and a contracting authority in a tender all want much the same thing: proof of income or turnover that can be relied on. Here a sworn translation with the sworn translator’s clause and seal is usually needed, not merely a professional one.
Tell us which institution takes the document in and by when. On that basis we say whether a professional translation will do, and where a sworn one is required we bind it to precisely the version of the document the institution asks for.
Tax, customs documents and confidentiality
Tax returns, customs declarations and invoices carry a difficulty of their own: codes. Commodity codes, tax identification numbers, customs declaration numbers and banking identifiers are neither translated nor tidied, or the document loses its traceability.
We treat financial data as confidential without being asked: we work under an NDA, only the translator and the reviewer see the documents, they never go through public machine translation engines, and on request we delete the working files after delivery.

Financial translation is priced by volume and by the format of the material: a spreadsheet costs less than a scan that has to be captured first. For a run of periods we prepare a single quote.
FAQ
Will you convert the amounts from hryvnia into euro?
No, and that is deliberate. A translation should carry the document across faithfully rather than create a new statement; the rate and the conversion date are the recipient’s to set. If you need a conversion, present it as a separate document prepared by you or your accountant.
What do you do when a total in the original does not add up?
We report it in a note with the delivery and translate the document as it stands. A silent correction would mean the translation asserts something the original does not, and that is precisely what an institution can penalise.
Does a bank require a sworn translation?
For proof of income and turnover it usually does, as do the foreign police and tender authorities. Tell us which institution receives the document and we will say in advance, so you do not pay for a seal you do not need.
Will the tables and the layout of the statement be preserved?
Yes, given a spreadsheet. The translation comes back in the same structure. A scan can be worked from too, but the table has to be rebuilt first and that shows in the price.
How long do you keep the document?
Working files are deleted after delivery on request. For a sworn translation, though, one copy stays with the translator: § 23(7) of Act No. 382/2004 Z. z. requires them to keep it for ten years from the date it was made. Everything else can be deleted; that statutory copy cannot.
